2015 in summary: How did Suju do?

Super Junior

This year was very interesting for Super Junior. Although promotions were limited, Devil and Magic followed in Mamacita’s steps to show us more sides to Suju’s creativity. An album that included releases by nearly every subunit (including Henry and Zhou Mi with Super Junior M!) was a wonderful way to celebrate 10 years with the group.

Devil, with a single version and no promotion sold at levels even higher than Mamacita A. At the end of the year, it landed itself spot no. 7 in the yearly Hanteo chart

and spot no. 9 in the yearly Gaon chart

Magic sold weaker in Hanteo than TIL had sold last year, but with absolutely no promotions and it being a repackage that was to be expected. Still, it ended in spot no. 41 for the yearly Hanteo chart

and did far better in Gaon, at no. 23

Largely driven by these new releases, along with sales of older albums, Super Junior took 5th best selling group for 2015 in Hanteo

and by numbers alone, the 3rd best selling album on Gaon.

Midnight & Dawn

While not technically a subunit, here at SJ-World we’ve been tracking M&D’s debut album because Heenim is a big part of it. We’ll call M&D the adopted subunit.

Cottage Industry

From the very release, we knew this album would have limited print. Even if that was the case, it sold almost every unit produced, landing at no. 71 in the yearly Hanteo chart

and slightly better at 67 on Gaon

Becoming the 42nd best selling artits this year with this single release

Donghae and Eunhyuk

D&E certainly gave fans a heck of a parting gift in The Beat Goes On. Every song in that album was worth listening many times over, and the Choki Wa dance craze that came with it had us feeling the beat.

TBGO Standard Edition

TBGO had sales that were truly impressive, and it paid off. It finished at a very remarkable no. 20 in Hanteo

and 36 for Gaon

Both units combined, D&E ended in an amazingly good 13th place for best selling group of the year

TBGO (Special Edition)

The addition of Korean version of their Japanese singles, as well as the unforgettable Oppa Oppa did not go unnoticed, and the special edition closed 2015 at no. 73 in Hanteo

and no. 60 in Gaon

Kyuhyun returns with more ballads in his 2nd mini album, building up from the great success that his first mini had last year. He definitely had a good year in physicals, ending at 47 on Hanteo

and no. 55 on Gaon

And all by himself taking spot no. 31 in the best selling artists this year
